We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Welder / Fabricator or Sheet Metal Worker to join our team at our Ulverstone site. This is a permanent, full-time role working on a wide variety of custom-built agricultural equipment in a supportive team environment.


About the Role

You will be involved in the fabrication, welding, fitting, maintenance and assembly of new and existing Dobmac machinery, along with repairs and modifications to agricultural equipment.


The role requires someone who can think practically, solve fabrication problems and work closely with our design and workshop teams.


The successful applicant will be an experienced fabricator who can work independently, interpret drawings and also take a concept, sketch or idea and turn it into a practical finished product.


Key Responsibilities

  • MIG and TIG welding of mild steel and stainless steel components and assemblies
  • Fabricating from engineering drawings, sketches, measurements, concepts and verbal instructions
  • Measuring, marking out, cutting, fitting and assembling fabricated components
  • General mechanical assembly and fitting
  • Identifying and resolving fabrication and manufacturing issues
  • Program and operate the Cobot robot welder
  • Repairing and modifying agricultural machinery and equipment
  • Working with designers, technicians and other workshop staff to develop practical solutions
  • Supporting and mentoring apprentices and other employees
  • Completing job documentation accurately
  • Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment
  • Assisting with overtime, site work or travel when reasonably required
