About the Role
Due to continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Welder / Fabricator to join our small, family-run manufacturing business, Stopem Ltd, based in Brereton, Rugeley. You will manufacture traffic control and parking equipment, working to a high standard while ensuring quality and safety at all times.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that requires skill, attention to detail, and a positive, hardworking attitude. You’ll join a supportive team where your contribution is valued. If you want to be part of a team where you’re a name and not just a number, then this role is for you.

What You’ll Do

  • Fabricate steel products and manufacture traffic control and parking equipment
  • Perform MIG welding (minimum 3 years preferred)
  • Cut, prepare, and shape materials for welding
  • Perform linishing and other finishing tasks to a high standard
  • Follow production job cards and company manufacturing processes
  • Work as part of a team, taking instruction when needed
  • Ensure all health and safety guidelines are followed
  • Prepare to train and develop new skills as required
  • Work overtime when necessary

What We’re Looking For

  • Experienced and competent in steel fabrication
  • Good understanding of basic English and Maths
  • Successfully completed a modern apprenticeship or equivalent in welding
  • Relevant MIG welding and fabrication experience
  • Forklift licence and driving licence (desirable but not essential)
  • Physically fit and able to lift heavy items
  • Hardworking, conscientious, and able to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with strong communication skills

Knowledge & Experience

  • Working knowledge of production machinery and steel fabrication (pillar drills, grinders, saws, presses)
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience cutting and preparing materials before welding
  • Ability to work to high standards and maintain quality

Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 7:00am – 5:00pm (1 hour unpaid break)
  • Friday: 7:00am – 12:45pm (15 min unpaid break)

Pay & Benefits

  • £14.00 per hour (reviewed after successful 6-month probation)
