Hourly Rate: £15.22 – £16.88 per hour (depending on experience)
Shifts: 2-week rotating shifts – Days and Nights + 30% shift allowance

Job Description:
We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Welder to join the team at Dyer Engineering. As a Welder, you will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal components used in high-profile sectors including rail, automotive, and defence. The Welder will be working primarily with mild steel using a range of welding methods such as MAG, MAG PULSE, GMAW, FCAW, MIG, and TIG.
Your daily duties as a Welder will include interpreting technical drawings and welding specifications, preparing materials, performing precise welds, and ensuring all work meets strict quality standards. You’ll also be expected to use a variety of tools and welding machines, ensuring equipment is maintained and operating safely.
Safety is paramount. As a Welder, you’ll follow all health and safety procedures and use appropriate PPE while contributing to the team’s high standards and productivity.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a similar Welder role, ideally within the automotive or rail sectors
  • Competency in MAG, MIG, TIG, FCAW, and GMAW welding techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and welding symbols
  • Understanding of welding standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ISO 9606-1)
  • Familiarity with steel, aluminium, and stainless steel materials
  • Experience with quality control processes and non-destructive testing
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
  • Proactive attitude with strong attention to detail
  • Willingness to work shifts and overtime when needed
