ISC is looking for skilled, technical candidates to fill a welding/fabricator position at our Minneapolis, Minnesota location. The Welder/Metal Fabricator will perform MIG and TIG welding, metal fabricating, assembly, maintenance and quality control. JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to plan projects. Metal Fabrication: Cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and shaping materials (steel, aluminum, and stainless steel) using tools like torches, saws, and grinders. Welding Processes: Joining components using welding techniques such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW). Assembly & Fitting: Aligning, jigging, and fitting parts to ensure they are square, plumb, and to specification, including small assemblies and broaching keyways. Quality Control: Inspecting welds for accuracy, strength, and structural soundness. Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning and maintaining welding equipment and tools to ensure safe operation. QUALIFICATIONS: Experience: Proven experience as a welder or fabricator, technical school training or apprenticeship a plus. Schooling: High school diploma or equivalent, AWS (American Welding Society) certifications are highly valued. Welding Proficiency: Technical knowledge of different metal types and welding techniques (MIG/TIG). Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials (50lbs), and work in uncomfortable positions. Mathematical Aptitude: Precision in measuring, marking, and calculating angles and dimensions using dial calipers, tape measures, squares, etc. Safety Adherence: Strict compliance with safety protocols, including wearing PPE and managing fumes/hazards. Responsibilities

The Welder/Fabricator will perform MIG and TIG welding, metal fabrication, and assembly tasks while interpreting engineering blueprints. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment and conducting quality control inspections to ensure structural soundness.
