We are a CWB certified shop and have a number of exciting opportunities on our day and afternoon shifts for Welders and Fitters. We are a specialized weld shop dealing with high grade material looking for skilled Welders and Fitters to join our team and grow.

Responsibilities
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Act, regulations, and all applicable legislation.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and professional manner and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that is required.
  • Follow Cambridge Pro Fab Inc.’s policies and procedures.
  • Promote safe work practices.
  • Be familiar with use of appropriate welding equipment, procedures on the appropriate welding machine (FCAW, GMAW and GTAW) processed in both stainless and carbon applications.
  • Complete paperwork as required.
  • Accountable for the size, quality and efficiency of welding performed and make required repairs.
  • Grind spatter and blend all materials from the welding process, replacing parent metal as required.
  • Understand and interpret welding symbols, applying the proper weld to each part as described on the blueprint.
  • Clean own welds with grinder, scraper, wire brush, and/or chipping hammer.
  • Weld any job, in any position, as assigned by the Plant Manager and/or Supervisor. This may include, but is not limited to working at heights, working within confined spaces and welding in some areas for a prolonged period of time. The ability to be flexible and agile for welding in any position is required.
  • Operate other task related tools and equipment safely including but not limited to: overhead cranes, ladders, chipping hammers, portable power tools, rose buds, clamps, and wrenches.
  • Visually inspect welds and preps to ensure they meet standards and/or specifications.
  • Must meet CWB and company standards for quality.
  • Ability to learn and apply new teachings, obtaining weld certifications as required.
  • Occasional insulation installation may be required.
  • Keep up with a fast-paced environment, flexibility to change jobs as required to suit customer or company requirements.
  • Maintain adequate attendance
  • Maintain a consistent line of communication between yourself and team lead.
  • Look for ways to improve safety, quality, and production.
  • Perform other duties outside the normal scope of your daily tasks for the betterment of the company.
