TRP working in tandem with a local engineering and site fitting company have an exciting opportunity for an experienced welder.
Please note CSR and recent construction site work experience is preferable.
A Construction Site Welder Fitter combines the skills of a welder and a fitter, focusing on welding and assembling metal components on construction sites. They read blueprints, prepare materials, operate welding equipment, and ensure quality control of welds, often working on steel fabrications and other metalwork.
Key Responsibilities:
· Welding:
Performing various welding techniques MIG welding to join metal components according to specifications.
· Fitter Skills:
Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces.
· Blueprint Reading:
Interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements and ensure accurate fabrication.
· Quality Control:
Inspecting welds and fittings to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
· Safety:
Following safety procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE) when working on site.
· Collaboration:
Working effectively within a team and collaborating with other tradespeople on the site.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Experience: Previous experience in welding and fitting, ideally in a construction environment.
· Welding Certifications: NVQ Level 3 is essential.
· Fitter Skills: Ability to handle hand tools, power tools, and machinery used in fitting and assembly.
· Blueprint Reading: Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
· Safety Awareness: Knowledge of safety regulations and a willingness to follow safety protocols.
· Teamwork: Ability to collaborate effectively with other members of the construction team.
· CSCS Card: A Construction Skills Certification Scheme card may be required for some sites.
