Description JOB DESCRIPTION Welder General Purpose: Under limited supervision, operates welding equipment and uses various processes and tools to fabricate, manufacture, assemble and move products while meeting all necessary specifications and quality control standards. Performs set ups, follows written instructions, and interprets drawing specifications. Essential Functions: Following Standard Work Instructions, operates manual and robotic welding equipment while maintaining tolerances. Performs complex set-ups of irregular shaped parts. Reads and interprets dimensions and other information from all types of drawings. Completes daily and necessary paperwork. Consistently performs quality checks by utilizing measurement tools and devices. Tests and inspects welded surfaces and structure to assure quality standards are met. Maintains a clean, safe working environment according to 5S and department safety guidelines. Reads, understands, communicates, and interprets written and verbal instruction, work documentation, policies, and practices, etc., which are written in the English language. Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. High school diploma or its equivalent (GED for example), or equivalent work experience in demonstrating performance competency required. Experience welding in a manufacturing environment. Experience in and knowledge of accessing and using information system computer databases. Skills and Abilities: Ability to use required measuring tools such as calipers, gauges, tape measure, etc. Ability to work cooperatively within the team as well as with members of other teams as needed. Demonstrate willingness to adapt to a continually changing environment. Flexibility to work varied hours as business needs require. Competent in basic math skills such as counting, adding, and subtracting. Read drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
