The Vehicle Management Agency’s mission is to provide fleet management and vehicle maintenance services to Government, on an economical basis and according to established standards, to enable clients to deliver quality services to the public. Our mechanics work on light fleet vehicles, school buses, plow trucks and heavy equipment. This work is vital to keep the province’s fleet safely on the road. What you will do Reporting to the Mechanic Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following responsibilities: * various welding, fabrication and metal cutting duties, including the fabrication of new plow truck components; * assembling new plow truck units; * fabricating inventory items; * refurbishing fleet components; * repairing and maintaining fleet assets. Work environment: * Office location: Chipman. * 40-hour week, with variable hours, including evenings and weekends, when required. * We promote a scent-reduced environment. * Some travel within the province will be required. Who you are Key behavioural competencies: * Commitment to Learning * Effective Interactive Communication * Teamwork and Cooperation Essential qualifications: * Possession of an approved F4 welder’s certificate as issued by the Province of New Brunswick. * A minimum of three (3) years related work experience. * Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick. Please attach a copy of your valid welder’s certificate and your driver license with your application. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered. Written and spoken competence in English is required.
