Description GTA Containers, a leading defense contractor, is seeking a motivated Welder to join our manufacturing team. The candidate need to have experience in MIG and TIG with strong Aluminum welding expertise. The candidate will need to be skilled in interpreting blueprints, setting up welding equipment, and ensuring high-quality weld that meet industry and company standards. Requirements Key Responsibilities: Perform TIG and MIG welding on aluminum, steel, and stainless-steel components. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols to complete fabrication projects accurately. Be able to offer feedback on blueprints and designs for continuous improvement in manufacturability. Set up, adjust, and maintain welding machines and related equipment. Inspect welds for quality, strength, and compliance with specifications. Complete inspection sheets in line with QA program. Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning prior to welding. Lead and coordinate daily activities of a small team of welders or fabrication staff. Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure production schedules are met. Train and mentor new welders on welding techniques, safety procedures, and company standards. Maintain a safe and organized work environment following OSHA and company safety guidelines. Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to resolve fabrication issues. Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on welding equipment. Perform other production/assembly-related work as needed. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred. Welding certification (AWS or equivalent). Prior experience in welding, manufacturing, and assembly is a must. Experience in manufacturing or metal fabrication environments. Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience. Good communication and leadership skills. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and safely maneuver large materials as part of a team. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Forklift experience is a plus. Work Environment: Strong teamwork and communication skills, especially when handling heavy or oversized materials. Ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment. Physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, heavy lifting, and prolonged standing. Attention to detail and commitment to quality. Problem-solving skills to address production challenges.
