Description The Welder Helper assists welders in the fabrication and assembly of aluminum boat components. This role prepares materials, maintains equipment, and supports welding operations to ensure efficient production and high-quality boat manufacturing. Essential Responsibilities Assist welders by preparing aluminum parts and materials for welding. Clean, grind, and smooth metal surfaces before and after welding. Position and secure components using clamps, fixtures, and tools. Transport materials and completed parts between departments. Maintain welding equipment and assist with basic maintenance. Remove slag and excess weld material using grinders and hand tools. Maintain clean and organized workstations. Follow all safety procedures related to welding and fabrication. Assist with quality checks on welded components. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous manufacturing or welding shop experience preferred. Ability to use grinders, hand tools, and measuring devices. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Skills · Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical procedures and drawings with supervision. · Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from team members and department managers.
