Tri-Arc is seeking MIG and fabrication welders for 1st shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) for our plant located in Blawnox, PA. Tri-Arc offers a competitive starting rate of $27.14 and also offers a generous benefit package. The right candidate(s) will have the opportunity to join the United Steelworkers Union after completing 520 probationary hours. This is a skilled, Welder II level position and all candidates are required to take and pass a steel and aluminum welding test. Job Description MIG welds various metals including mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Chips or grinds off excess weld, slag, or spatter. Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together. Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding. Sets up equipment and welds parts, using MIG welding equipment. Assembles parts by bolting and riveting. Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Selects equipment and plans layout, assembly, and welding. Set up and operate fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials. Requirements Certificate from college or technical school; or one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience welding various metals including mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
Responsibilities
The Welder II will perform MIG welding on various metals including mild steel, aluminum, and stainless steel, requiring the selection of equipment and planning of layout, assembly, and welding processes. Responsibilities also include fitting components, chipping or grinding excess material, assembling parts by bolting or riveting, and repairing products through dismantling and reshaping.
