GENERAL FUNCTION: Supervises the activities of a group of hourly welders to meet company quality and safety standards within production schedules, in the most cost-effective manner. Works under the general direction of a Foreman, Superintendent or other plant management position.   TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities:   * Task and oversee hourly workers on daily assignments. * Complete time entry of hourly workers daily. * Monitor job activity of hourly workers, answering questions, giving guidance and resolving problems. * Assist plan management in determining work procedures, equipment and supply needs and manpower requirements to complete assignments per production drawing. * Selects, supervises, instructs, and schedules employee’s work. * Monitors work processes and products to ensure quality and cost containment standards are maintained. * Ensures company equipment is properly handled, maintained, and secured. * Ensures and monitors compliance of safety rules and regulations by all employees.   DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of plant operations with particular emphasis on welding techniques and equipment involved.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and work objectives.  Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs.  Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group and to perform as a member of a management team.  Ability to effectively communicate.  Knowledge of State and Federal and regulations related to safety, health and environmental.  Familiar with all company policies and procedures.    DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: High School Diploma or GED required and atleast 4 years of demonstrated experience in the position of Welder.  Bollinger is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to providing employment opportunities to minorities, females, veterans and disabled individuals, and without regard to sexual orientation and gender identity.
