Position: Welder-Equipment Repair Location: Denton, TX Job Type: On-site Reports to: FM Department: North American Operations Position Purpose: Leadec Industrial Services Inc. is a leading provider of manufacturing support services to the global automotive industry. Our mission is to partner with industrial manufacturers by delivering manufacturing support services that have made a measurable improvement in our customers' quality, uptime and total cost.   Essential Duties and Responsibilities:   · Demonstrates the values and business principles of Leadec. · Works safely at all times. · Complete tasks in accordance with standardized quality checklists · Continually seek out opportunities to improve onsite activities · Master skills associated with the versatility matrix · Review current best practices resulting in efficiencies relating to time, material usage, and safety · Live "Safety is Your Life" Program. Use proper personal protective equipment, i.e., hearing protection, steel toed shoes, safety glasses, etc., as required for the task at hand · Removes and replaces pedestals from line using a fork-truck. · Performs general maintenance/repairs on dollies and dumpsters. · Removes/replaces part on dollies, dumpsters, and pedestals. · Greases and lubes dollies and dumpsters · Removes/replaces dollies from storage area using fork-truck according to production schedule. · Manages the shipping and receiving of grates, paint dollies, and other items from the sand cleaning. · Cleans specified dollies with scraper · Use hand tools required for light fabrication. · Performs cutting and welding for fabrication of materials. · Coordinates grate and dolly shipments to grate burning contractors. · Training Needed: o Forklift license o Other training includes but not limited to lockout, confined space, PPE, hearing protection, Haz-com, and fall protection o Basic job skill training o Welding test will be issued prior · Adhering to and supporting all EHS and Quality objectives, in accordance with ISO 14001, 45001 and 9001 respectively. · All other duties as assigned by Leadec manager.   Competencies:   · Managing Complexity · Action Orientation · Managing Tasks · Open Communication · Self-Management   Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:   · Communication Skills - Ability to communicate with all levels of Leadec and customer employees. · Language Ability -- Talking to others to convey information effectively. · Ability to read and understand written job instructions. · Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication of man-hours/minutes. · Ability to perform basic reasoning and problem solving in an industrial environment. · Ability to perform cutting and MIG welding for fabrication and equipment repair. · Ability to follow standardized quality checklists and work instructions. · Ability to safely operate a fork-truck to move equipment and materials. · Proficiency using hand tools for light fabrication and repair.   Position Qualifications:   · High school diploma or equivalent. · Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred. · Previous MIG welding experience required. · Experience performing light fabrication, equipment repair, or general industrial maintenance preferred. · Experience removing, replacing, greasing, and lubricating: o Dollies o Dumpsters o Pedestals · Valid driver's license required. · Ability to obtain and maintain a Forklift License · Welding test required prior to hire · Basic computer skills   Physical Requirements: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the key actions of the job:   · Required to talk and/or hear in an industrial setting (noise level is high). Frequently required to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for 4 -12 hours. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms; lift; climb or balance; kneel, crawl, stoop, or crouch. · Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception and focus adjustment. · Work is performed in an industrial-manufacturing environment with occasional time spent working on a computer or at a desk.
