Description
About the Role: As a Welder, you will play a critical role in the fabrication and assembly of metal structures and components, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety. Your expertise in various welding techniques will be essential to join metal parts accurately according to blueprints and specifications. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to interpret technical drawings and deliver precise welds that meet project requirements. The role demands a strong attention to detail and the ability to work with different metals, including stainless steel, using specialized equipment. Ultimately, your work will contribute to the durability and functionality of products used across multiple industries within the United States. Minimum Qualifications: * High school diploma or equivalent. * Proven experience as a welder with proficiency in arc welding, TIG, MIG, and flux core welding techniques. * Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols accurately. * Familiarity with metal fabrication processes and working knowledge of stainless steel welding. * Certification from a recognized welding program or apprenticeship. Preferred Qualifications: * Experience operating overhead cranes and other heavy lifting equipment. * Certification in specialized welding techniques such as brazing. * Knowledge of welding safety standards and OSHA regulations. * Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment. * Additional training or certification in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods. Responsibilities: * Perform arc welding, TIG, MIG, and flux core welding on metal components following detailed blueprints and work orders. * Operate overhead cranes and other lifting equipment safely to position heavy metal parts for welding and fabrication. * Inspect welded joints for quality and compliance with industry standards, making adjustments as necessary to ensure structural integrity. * Collaborate with metal fabrication teams to prepare materials, cut, shape, and assemble metal parts before welding. * Apply brazing techniques when required to join metal parts that cannot be welded. * Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and report any malfunctions promptly. * Adhere to all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment to minimize risk during welding operations. Skills: The required welding skills such as arc, TIG, MIG, and flux core welding are applied daily to join metal components with precision and durability. Reading blueprints and technical drawings is essential for understanding project specifications and ensuring accurate fabrication. Operating overhead cranes safely allows for efficient handling of heavy materials during assembly and welding processes. Knowledge of metal fabrication and brazing techniques supports the preparation and joining of various metal parts beyond standard welding. Preferred skills like safety compliance and non-destructive testing enhance the quality assurance process and contribute to a safe working environment.
