Description Starting at $23.41 per hour. This position is eligible for a 90-day performance increase. Rate after 90-days: $24.24 per hour. 1st and 2nd shift available 1st Shift: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM (+$2.00/hr. shift differential) Benefits effective day one, 2 weeks' vacation, free on-site health clinic, on-site fitness center, and 401(k) with matching. Summary: Performs duties required to make flat, vertical and horizontal welds on chain guard, plate and structural steel conveyer parts utilizing electric arc Tig, Mig and rod welding machines. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING. OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED: · Work from bills of material, blueprints, sketches and verbal and written instructions. · Interpret basic welding symbols, move and position conveyer parts and components on tables, in fixtures or welding machines. · Perform basic flat, horizontal and vertical welding primarily on plate and structural steel parts. · Clean and dress welds and place welded parts aside. · Burn materials to fit parts for welding and to perform simple part fabrications at times. · Use floor controlled overhead crane equipment as necessary to move parts and materials; use care to lift and balance loads properly; operate equipment in a safe manner. · Exercise proper care in the use of tools, equipment and materials. · Detect and report faulty equipment, defective material, improper operations and unusual conditions to supervision. · Maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: KNOWLEDGE: Use decimals, fractions and other ordinary arithmetic. Requires interpretation to adhere to requirements. Requires general knowledge of welding, metal properties, welding rods and heating skills. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Over three and up to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Responsibilities
