Description

Lor-Don Limited is a full-service specialty contractor primarily in stainless steel fabrication. We service the private commercial, public, institutional, and industrial markets.
We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and experienced Welder/Metal Fabricator to join our team in London, Ontario.
This position requires an individual who is highly skilled at using drawings to design and execute fabrication projects. The responsibilities of this position include interpreting blueprints, reading welding symbols, studying specifications, fitting and welding steel handrails, stairs, platforms, structural steel, tanks, equipment frames, ductwork, etc. The hours of work for this position are Monday through Thursday, 6:30am – 4:00pm.

Specific duties and responsibilities include:

  • Ability to interpret drawings and apply them to fabrication
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time, including lifting, reaching, and climbing
  • Steel and aluminum fabrication with the ability to layout and mark material to be cut and welded
  • Perform precision burning, create jigs, have a working knowledge of fabrication hand tools
  • Align and fit parts according to specification
  • Inspect materials, components, welds, and equipment for defects or malfunctions

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position
  • Experience with operating welding equipment using SMAW, FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW
  • Ability to adapt to changes in job scope
  • Works well as part of team
  • Ability to follow instruction and work with minimal supervision
  • Solid knowledge of the use of Personal Protective Equipment, machine guards, and safe working procedures
  • Attention to detail a must

Selected applicants will be required to complete an in-person welding test as part of their interview process.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $34.11-$47.93 per hour
