RESPONSIBILITIES: • Lays out, positions, and secures parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straightedge, combination square, calipers, and measuring tape • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using SMA, GTA, or FCA welding processes • Cuts work piece, using oxy-acetylene torches • Able to Air Carbon Arc Gouge • Removes rough spots from work piece, using portable grinder, hand file, or scraper • Welds components in flat, vertical horizontal, or overhead positions • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations • Develops templates and other work aids to hold and align parts • Determines required equipment and welding method, applying knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques • Ten or more years of welding experience on drilling rigs and associated equipment • Certifications for welding structural steel such as Grade 50, and 4130. Minimum years of Experience: No minimum years of experience. Qualifications: AWSD 1.1 Qualification. Good knowledge of English both Spoken and written.
