Description

Candidate with 4 to 8 years' experience in FCAW Welding in 2G/3G/ OH positions of Heavy fabrication industry. GMAW/ SMAW experience will be added advantage. The candidate is expected to perform with minimal supervision and without assistance. The role requires strict adherence to welding quality and safety standards. Job Summary: The individual shall have Minimum 4-8 years of experience in various welding processes. Capable to read blueprints/drawings and interpret welding requirements. Capable to read and interpret welding procedures. Capable to produce PJP, CJP & 6G quality welds on various metals like carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steels. Capable to weld with “FCAW, GMAW’’ process on piping and structural steels. Directly reporting to welding supervisor/ Welding Engineer. Primary Responsibilities: Read Welding procedures and understand welding process. Welding of primary joints of structural items and piping as per WPS, qualified to AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX. Attending the weld repair (if any) as per the procedure Implementing the distortion control measures during welding activity Grinding and cleaning/Dress up of the work pieces & welds Capable to use various welding gauges and measuring tapes/instruments. Ensure clean workplace and equipment. Performs other duties as assigned. Facility/Group Specific Responsibilities: As per the ARM policy. Education/Qualifications: Education: Min. High School with min. 6 years experience/ ITI / Diploma . Certificate/Qualification Records of welder performance qualification of various welding processes like FCAW/GMAW /GTAW/SMAW. Any additional qualification above this will be added advantage Experience Required: Min. 4 years’ experience in structural & piping welding in heavy fabrication industry. Key Competencies & Skills: Shall have sound technical knowledge welding & gouging processes. Should be able to qualify third party welding qualification test in 6G (All) position. Must have the knowledge of English speaking and writing (as all our procedures and forms in English). Expertise knowledge in tools required for welding and gouging (Gas burners, Grinding machines, welding/ gouging machines). Expert in welding machine setup, handling of shielding gases, consumable control and safe handling of power tools Good communications skills

Responsibilities

The welder is responsible for reading welding procedures and performing welding on structural items and piping according to specified standards. They must also ensure a clean workplace and implement distortion control measures during welding activities.
