Division:          ACCO - York Department:     General Factory Title:                 Welder Reports to:     Shop Supervisor   Level/Grade:  Union Type of Position:  Full Time Status:             Non-Exempt Shift:                First (7 am – 3:30 pm) Job Summary This position will weld castings and fabrications to vendor’s specifications with specified rod with particular parts.  Must be able to operate one or more machines as required to meet production and quality standards with maximum productivity. Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential) 1. Weld any type of job.  Set up and operate manual and semi-automatic welding machines. * 2. Select the best welding rod for the job to weld castings and fabrications. * 3. Pass any tensile and code test required. * 4. Use prevision tools and measuring instruments; read and understand blueprints and written specifications and use shop mathematics. * 5. Operate one or more machines as required to meet production and quality standards. * 6. Lift 1 to 50 pounds on a regular basis. * 7. Stand, walk, bend over, twist, and reach to weld, put parts in fixturing, put parts in boxes after welding, and retrieve parts and equipment from other areas of the plant. * 8. See, read, and write to comprehend safety warnings, visually observe machine functions, read instructions, and do necessary paperwork. * 9. Communicate with supervisors, inspectors, etc.* 10. Be able to learn and have a long-term memory for machine controls and functions, measuring instrument usage, understand assembly instructions, blueprint reading/symbols, etc.* 11. Punctuality and regular attendance are important to maintain manufacturing schedules. * 12. Will be exposed to some dust, smoke, and fumes normal to any manufacturing environment. * 13. Be able to MIG & Stick weld   Pay/Location:  Starting rate - $22.50 per hour with progression to $23.37 per hour Location – 76 Acco Drive, York, Pa. 17405 Job Specifications (Work Experience, Skills, Abilities, etc.)  * 2 years’ relevant manufacturing experience required. * Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.  * Demonstrate a positive and business-like attitude.  * Required to wear all OSHA mandated safety equipment and to adhere to all company safety practices and policies.  * Conduct all interactions with customers (internal and external), vendors, field sales representatives, co-workers, and supervisors in a focused, positive, courteous and respectful manner.  * Regular attendance is an essential element of the job.  Unplanned absences have the potential to impair the operation of the department and diminish effectiveness of the company.                                         ducation Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent.
