THE OPPORTUNITY

Ram Iron & Metal is looking for a talented and experienced Welder to join our Team. The Welder, under the direction of the Supervisor, Service Maintenance will be responsible for fabricating components from drawings and performing welding operations to join components.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of (5) years of fabricating/welding experience.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and electrical DC voltage.
  • Certified Millwright/Red Seal would be an asset.
  • Must have a valid work permit unless Canadian Citizen or permanent resident.
Responsibilities

RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITES

  • Fabricate metal components and structures according to drawings and specifications.
  • Repair and maintain bins, containers and other equipment using welding and fabrication techniques as needed.
  • Conduct inspections of welds and fabricated pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
  • Operate welding equipment such as MIG, TIG, and arc welders to join metal parts.
  • Use cutting torches, plasma cutters, and other tools to shape and cut metal accurately.
  • Work with designated compressed gases and cylinders (oxygen, propane, or argon).
  • Interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams to determine the layout and welding requirements.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Follow safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including welding helmets, gloves, goggles, and flame-resistant clothing, to minimize the risk of injury and exposure to hazardous materials during welding and fabrication tasks.
  • Coordinate with supervisor to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of welding equipment and machinery to ensure proper functionality and safety compliance.
  • Assist with material handling and inventory management as needed.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and guidelines when disposing of materials and waste generated during welding and fabrication processes.
  • Other duties as required, not limited to responsibilities listing above.
