JOB SUMMARY:

The Welder Fabricator I position encompasses Production Welding and Quality responsibilities. Duties include analyzing blueprints, welding jobs, maintaining production standards and producing consistently accurate work.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Typically requires minimum of 3-5 years’ experience

In addition to level 2, must:

• Ability to set up weld machine to different types of materials
• Capability to TIG weld Aluminum
• Capability to GMAW weld all types of materials
• Ability to perform dimensional calculations.
• Capable of using all required measuring equipment. Tape Measure, Calipers, Protractor, Laser Level
• Ability to set up weld machine to different types of materials
• Must create quality welds, identify poor welds (porosity, undercut, etc.) and know how to repair them
• Must be able to identify & resolve root cause of weld issues
• Ability to troubleshoot & recommend resolutions for fit up issues
• Ability to Flux core horizontal & vertical.
• Ability to design and create fixtures
• Ability to Grind welds and blend corners.
• Ability to perform complex layouts with guidance

• Performs visual quality checks and takes appropriate action to correct defects.
• Performs complex dimensional layouts to complete products without fixtures
• Works under minimal supervision & guidance
• Prepares materials for welding, cuts, grinds, and cleans metal.
• Produces work daily that is consistently accurate.
• Provides feedback to supervisor on problems with the welding process.
• Must generate quality welds
