SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a qualified and experienced Welder on behalf of our client who runs a trusted and well-established engineering and fabrication business, based in Sunshine West, Victoria.
Our client specialises in providing high-quality welding, fabrication, and metal engineering solutions to a diverse range of industries. With a strong focus on precision, safety, and innovation, the team of highly skilled tradespeople and engineers deliver customised projects including structural frameworks, industrial machinery, and specialised metalwork, within strict project deadlines.
Position - Welder
Location – Sunshine West, Victoria
Salary - $77,000 - $82,000 plus superannuation per annum
Employment Type - Full-time, Permanent
THE ROLE:
We are looking for a Welder who is highly skilled and takes pride in their work. This role offers the opportunity to work across diverse projects, delivering high-quality fabrication and welding solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
· Perform MIG, TIG and Stick welding on structural steel, stainless steel, and aluminum projects to meet technical and safety standards.
· Interpret and apply engineering drawings, plans, and blueprints to ensure accuracy in fabrication and assembly.
· Operate and maintain a range of hand and power tools, including grinders, cutters, and welding equipment, maintaining strict adherence to occupational health and safety (OHS) standards.
· Cut, shape, join and fabricate metal components to build, repair, and assemble structural frameworks and custom metalwork.
· Conduct routine checks, maintenance, and calibration of welding machinery to ensure compliance with OH&S requirements.
· Contribute to a safe, efficient, and productive workshop environment through adherence to workplace procedures and chain of responsibility standards.
· Adhere to the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Collaborate with engineers, tradespeople, and workshop teams to achieve project deadlines and quality benchmarks.
· Mentor and support apprentices, providing guidance in welding techniques and safe work practices.
