Job Description Are you a trade qualified welder with extensive experience in GMAW (MIG), GTAW (TIG), (Flux-core) and/or SMAW (Stick)? If so, we want to hear from you! We are currently seeking skilled welders to join our team of boilermakers and welders at our workshops located in Corio. As a welder with Thornton Engineering, you will report to the workshop supervisor and be responsible for interpreting weld procedure specifications to determine the necessary consumables and variables for the welding process, while maintaining our high-quality standards. I will also be responsible for operating and maintaining measuring tools, power tools, hand tools, and welding machines required to produce the fabricated parts. Qualifications Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication trade - Welder (or equivalent) Adequate welding skills to pass welder qualification test Considerable experience in GMAW (MIG) welding Experience with other welding processes GTAW (TIG), (Flux-core) and or SMAW (Stick) is advantageous Experience with stainless steel is advantageous Ability to read and interpret WPS (welding procedure specification) Skilled in operating equipment used in fabrication Current & valid driver's license Candidates with a forklift, dogman (DG) and/or high-risk work licenses are encouraged to apply.
