JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various welding techniques and have the ability to read blueprints and schematics. This role involves working with different materials and equipment, ensuring high-quality standards in manufacturing and construction projects. The Welder will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures, as well as performing repairs on existing components.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 2-3 years’ experience as a welder/fitter required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Knowledgeable on different types of metal and their properties
  • Familiarity with welding equipment and tools
  • Strong attention to detail and precision
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledgeable on maintenance and operation of various machinery
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Knowledgeable of safe work practices and precautionary measures.

    Pay: $22.00-$27.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Layout, position and secure parts and assemblies according to specifications, using straight edge, combination square, calipers and ruler
  • Tack-welds or welds components and assemblies, using electric, gas, arc, or other welding equipment
  • Cuts workpiece, using powered saws, hand shears, or chipping knife
  • Melts lead bar, wire, or scrap to add lead to joint or to extrude melted scraps into reusable form
  • Installs or repairs equipment, such as, lead pipes, valves, floors, and tank linings
  • Observes tests on welded surfaces, such as hydrostatic, x-ray, and dimension tolerance to evaluate weld quality and conformance to specifications
  • Inspect grooves, angles, or gap allowances, using micrometer, caliper, and precision measuring instruments
  • Grinding, hand filing and scraping of rough material
  • Analyzes engineering drawings and specifications to plan layout, assembly and welding operations
  • Performs preventative maintenance on all tools and equipment needed to perform job
  • Has working knowledge of adjusting valves, amperage, or voltage to obtain desired flame or arc.
  • Adhere to and maintain to all policies and procedure and health and safety measures as prescribed by the company and the law.
  • Work with Supervisors to ensure jobs progress as planned
  • Clean and maintain work area
  • Other duties as assigned.
