    We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our dynamic team at a professional welding institute. This unique role combines hands-on welding responsibilities with instructional duties. The ideal candidate will fabricate and assemble metal components to specification, while also training and mentoring students and apprentices in welding techniques, safety, and industry standards. Red Seal certification or equivalent and 6G welding certification are required, along with CWB certification and experience in multiple welding processes including flux core.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine project specifications
  • Fabricate, build, and assemble metal components using industry-standard welding techniques
  • Perform welding tasks on various materials, ensuring high-quality, durable welds
  • Operate power and hand tools safely and effectively
  • Support and guide students and apprentices during practical training sessions
  • Demonstrate safe welding practices and proper equipment use to learners
  • Assist in developing instructional materials and hands-on learning activities
  • Provide feedback and informal assessments to help students improve their skills
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, modeling best practices
  • Collaborate with other instructors and team members to meet institutional goals

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Welder, preferably with mentoring or instructional background
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent
  • 6G welding will be added benefit
  • CWB certification mandatory
  • Skilled in MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux core welding techniques
  • Proficient in reading blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support instructional duties
  • Experience operating grinders, saws, drills, and measuring tools (e.g., calipers)
  • Basic math skills for fabrication work
  • Ability to engage learners of varying skill levels with respect and encouragement
  • Prior teaching or training experience is an asset; teaching credential or willingness to obtain one may be required depending on institutional policy

Monday to Friday and weekends availability required
