Supreme Steel is currently looking for a quality driven, experienced Journeyperson Welders or Wire Process Operator to join our production team at our Bridge Division in east Edmonton, AB. This is a full time unionized positions for our day shift (Monday to Thursday, 10 hr shifts). The successful candidate for this position must be safety conscientious, capable of interpreting structural steel drawings, able to operate a sub-arc welding machine to weld steel bridge girders and other components, with minimum supervision while promoting a safe work environment.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to determine welding requirements.
  • Operate sub-arc and other welding equipment to fabricate structural steel components.
  • Utilize hand and power tools to prepare materials and ensure precise cuts.
  • Conduct quality inspections of welds and finished products to meet specifications.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment
  • Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.

Preferred Journeyperson Welder / Wire Process Operator candidates will possess the following attributes:

  • Journeyperson or Red Seal Certificate is required
  • Ability to operate a sub-arc welding machine or ability and drive to learn is required
  • Ability to weld structural steel bridge girders and other components.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and adherence to safety protocols
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings to determine welding requirements

Successful candidates will have a valid driver’s license will be required to pass pre-employment Drug and Alcohol Testing, as well as Physical Fitness to Work Mobility Testing as a condition of their employment. Reliable transportation to the facility is Acheson is also required, as there is limited public transit.
