Location: Otway Gas Plant near Port Campbell, Victoria.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform coded welding activities in accordance with approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), engineering drawings, and client requirements.
  • Complete welding repairs, modifications, and installation works on piping, pressure equipment, structural steel, and associated plant infrastructure.
  • Conduct welding using various processes including SMAW, GTAW (TIG), FCAW, and GMAW (MIG) as required by the work scope.
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, weld maps, and fabrication details.
  • Prepare materials, bevels, joints, and equipment prior to welding activities.
  • Carry out grinding, gouging, cutting, fit-up, and fabrication tasks as required.
  • Ensure all welds meet quality, inspection, and non-destructive testing (NDT) requirements.
  • Assist with pressure testing, leak testing, and commissioning activities where required.
  • Participate in shutdown activities to ensure critical path work is completed safely and on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate welding records, traceability documents, and quality paperwork.
  • Conduct routine inspection and maintenance of welding equipment and tools.
  • Work closely with Superintendents, Supervisors, Inspectors, Boilermakers, Mechanical Fitters, and other trades to achieve shutdown objectives.
  • Identify and report defects, hazards, and equipment issues promptly.
