SKILLS

· Basic understanding of working with tools or machinery
· GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent preferred.
· Must be eligible for an apprenticeship programme with a recognised training provider.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

As a Welding Apprentice at Purex, you will support the fabrication of metal components used in our clean air extraction and filtration systems. Through hands-on learning and formal training, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge required to become a qualified welder, working to high standards of safety, accuracy, and quality.

KEY DUTIES

We’re looking for someone who will:
· Learn and develop skills in welding techniques.
· Assist with the preparation, cutting, and joining of materials.
· Read and interpret basic technical drawings and fabrication specifications.
· Support experienced fabricators with daily tasks, including assembly and finishing.
· Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean working area.
· Follow all health & safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
· Attend off-site apprenticeship training and complete all required coursework.
· Actively participate in team meetings and continuous improvement discussions.
· Operate the co-welder system (robot welder)
