Description

Location : 100% remote, Possibility to work from anywhere in USA, within 1 hour of a regional airport (preferred location near existing customers)
Headquarters : Occasional visits to headquarters based 8800 Blvd Parent, Trois-Rivières, QC, Canada G9A 5E1
Travel : Must be able and willing to travel within USA, Canada and Overseas 30-40% Schedule : Monday to Friday*

JOB SUMMARY:

The Welding Engineer is responsible for delivering high-quality, hands-on training programs to customers on the safe and effective operation, programming, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our robotic welding cell equipment after the initial commissioning phase. The Welding Engineer acts as a training and technical resource to our end users, as well as to other departments. There are three main aspects to the role:

  • Technical support to end users (remote and on-site)
  • Weld database management
  • Training (on-site), including preparation, scheduling, follow-up
  • internal technical support (Controls & Automation, Design, engineering, Sales)

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED :

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a Welding Engineering Technology, combined with a minimum of 5 years experience.
  • Knowledge of structural steel fabrication.
  • Proven experience in operating, programming, and maintaining robotic welding systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering technical training or presentations, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of welding processes and applications.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and explain solutions effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver Post-Commissioning Training: Conduct on-site and potentially virtual training sessions for customers who have recently had their robotic welding cells commissioned. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Advanced operation and programming techniques.
  • Preventative maintenance procedures and schedules.
  • Basic and advanced troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Safety protocols and best practices specific to the installed equipment.
  • Software interface and data management.
  • Optional features and advanced functionalities.
  • Develop and Maintain Training Materials: Create, update, and maintain comprehensive training materials, including:
  • Online Training & operation manuals
  • Hands-on exercises and practical assessments
  • Video tutorials and online resources
  • Quick reference guides and troubleshooting tips
  • Provide remote Support: Serve as a technical resource for customers post-training, addressing questions and providing clarification on equipment operation and maintenance. Diagnosing and improving welding quality at customer sites and supporting the commissioning of new systems
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams: Work closely with the Sales, Engineering, Commissioning, and Service departments to ensure a smooth customer experience. Provide feedback on product usability and potential training needs based on customer interactions.
  • Travel: Be able and willing to travel domestically and internationally to customer sites.
  • Administrative Tasks: Complete administrative tasks related to training delivery, including scheduling, documentation, and reporting.
