QUALITY INSPECTOR (WELDING – CWB CERTIFIED)

We are urgently seeking a CWB Certified Welding Quality Inspector with 5+ years of experience in structural steel or fabrication environments. Reporting directly to the Fabrication Manager, this position is crucial to maintaining high standards of weld quality, structural integrity, and code compliance in our growing modular construction division.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid CWB Welding Inspector certification (Level 1 or 2) – required
• 5+ years of welding inspection in structural fabrication or steel environments
• Strong understanding of CSA standards, WPS, NDE techniques, and structural drawings
• Able to read and interpret engineering and fabrication drawings
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills
• Forklift or crane ticket is an asset
• Must be able to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced production environment

• Perform weld inspections on steel and precast embedded components
• Ensure compliance with CSA standards, CWB codes, and internal specifications
• Review Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and verify application
• Document all inspections, issues, and corrective actions
• Collaborate with supervisors, welders, and engineers to resolve defects
• Support audits and contribute to continuous improvement of quality systems
• Work on the shop floor daily and occasionally support site review as needed
