JOB SUMMARY:

The Welding Operator is responsible for executing precision welding tasks to fabricate, assemble, and repair metal components used in prototype development. This role demands a high level of skill in various welding techniques, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of welding safety standards and practices.
  • Preferred:
  • Certification from a recognized welding institution (e.g., AWS).
  • Experience in prototype or custom fabrication environments.
  • Familiarity with automated or robotic welding systems.

Responsibilities
  • Setup & Operation:
  • Set up and operate welding machines (MIG, TIG, Stick) based on project specifications.
  • Adjust machine settings and configurations for optimal weld quality.
  • Fabrication & Assembly:
  • Weld metal components according to blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Measure, cut, and shape metal parts as required for prototype builds.
  • Quality & Inspection:
  • Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and adherence to specifications.
  • Perform quality checks using measuring tools and visual inspection techniques.
  • Maintenance & Safety:
  • Conduct routine maintenance on welding equipment.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaboration:
  • Work closely with design engineers and fabrication teams to meet prototype requirements.
  • Communicate progress and issues effectively with supervisors and team members.
