JOB SUMMARY:

We are currently looking for a Welder Set-Up Operator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating both conventional and robotic welding machines to fabricate metal components. This is a hands-on role for someone with technical knowledge and a commitment to quality and safety.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Secondary School Diploma (required).
  • Relevant coursework in welding and robotic programming.
  • Minimum 5 years of welding experience in a production environment.
  • Forklift and Overhead Crane certifications (considered assets).
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Good communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate both conventional and robotic welding machines.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, and specifications.
  • Verify materials, components, and welding wire before welding.
  • Assemble and tack-weld components for final welding.
  • Program and adjust robotic welding equipment.
  • inspect finished components using measuring instruments.
  • Resolve welding or assembly issues with engineers and production staff.
  • Maintain accurate programs, set-up sheets, and documentation.
  • Act as a qualified inspector for first-off and final inspections.
  • Train and mentor junior welders and support safety/quality procedures.
  • Adhere to company Health & Safety and Quality Management policies.
  • Report workplace safety incidents or concerns.
