Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a qualified and motivated AS1796 Cert 10 Welding Supervisor to lead and coordinate welding operations at our Gladstone branch. The successful candidate will oversee daily welding activities, ensure compliance with quality standards, manage a team of welders, and liaise with project and workshop managers to meet production schedules.

REQUIREMENTS

Key Responsibilities: As a Workshop Welding Supervisor/Inspector, you will be responsible for a range of duties, including but not limited to:

  • Allocation of projects to available resources
  • Monitoring weld consumables
  • Providing training where required
  • Assisting the Welding Coordination team
  • Creation of ITP, NDR, HTR and Weld Logs
  • Monitoring and updating welder qualifications registers
  • Development of weld procedures as required
  • Liaise with client engineers
  • Completion of NCR’s
  • Communicating with 3rd Party NDT Technicians
  • Coordinate with sub-contractors, as required (PWHT/ NDT)
  • Conducting Internal NDT inspections
  • Conducting Investigations and Completing Incident Reports
  • Developing Safer Systems of Work.
  • Conduct Supplier Audits

OTHER TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge and skill in multiple welding processes (GTAW, GMAW, FCAW, PTAW) and exotic materials
  • Hands-on experience in welding small, medium, and large weldments and fabrications
  • Knowledge of ISO 3834
  • Proficiency in using MS Office - Excel and Word
  • Assist the estimating team
  • Highly developed analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of ASME, AS/NZS, AWS and ISO standards
  • Experience in QC/QA and reporting
  • Experience leading a team of tradespeople and apprentices.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum two years of hands-on experience in welding processes and fabrication.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating a team.
  • Proven experience in project allocation and resource management.
  • ISO 3834 Audit experience

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • IIW/IWS International Welding Specialist (Opportunity for enrollment after a successful probation period)
  • AS2214
  • IIW/IWI-B International Welding Inspector - Basic
