CITB aims to lead the construction sector by example to ensure fairness, inclusion and respect for all. We seek to build a workforce that reflects Britain’s diverse population and people from under-represented groups are encouraged to apply for vacancies.
Our main objective is to create a culture that helps all of our customers strive towards a workforce that is reflective of today’s society.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Would you like to be part of a team that helps shape a safe and supportive learning experience for our learners where no two days are the same?
Are you kind, caring, and compassionate, with the drive to make a difference to the lives and achievements of our learners?
Do you have a natural ability to care for the needs of others?
Do you have a positive attitude and ability to promote independence and personal development? Can you shape and enhance the positive behaviours and attitudes of our learners during their studies, promoting valuable work and life skills?
Are you a self-starter and motivator, actively seeking innovative methods to enhance the resilience and confidence of our learners?
You will provide support to all learners, focusing on individual health and welfare needs, including supporting learners with their mental health.
You will deliver a programme of positive activities to support personal development and enhance the learner experience. This may involve both on and off-site activities.
Are you confident, with a good understanding of how to work professionally with young people and adults. You will be supporting learners who stay away from home whilst studying with CITB.
You will work as part of a team of Welfare Officers, working closely with other teams across the College, liaising with parents/carers/employers and external agencies.
Safeguarding is a big part of the job, and we take it very seriously: you will play a key part in safeguarding our learners.
You will demonstrate great organisation and administration skills. You will be competent in managing your time, using a range of systems to accurately maintain welfare records. You will also complete administrative duties, such as compliance and Health & Safety records.
You will cover the duties of care for our learners, providing pastoral and safeguarding support to ensure their holistic well-being and welfare.
You will take responsibility for your own professional approach and commitment to the role, supporting and safeguarding learners to achieve their potential and gain valuable life, independence, and personal development skills.
