Responsibilities

MAIN DUTIES OF THE JOB

Suffolk Wellbeing are pleased to be able to offer an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Wellbeing Engagement Worker, you will use your knowledge and experience of working with Community and Voluntary Sector groups to engage with people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures and your creativity to set up and present appealing activities and events in Community settings. We welcome applicants that speak more than one language

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION AND MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Experience of setting up creative and appealing events and activities and engaging widely in the community.
  • Experience of report writing for a variety of recipients.
  • Experience of partnership working. Working with Community and Voluntary Sector management groups and Organisations.
  • Experience providing advice/signposting to services.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal. Ability to relate to people from a wide range of backgrounds, with the skills to motivate and encourage them to act and manage their wellbeing.
  • Ability to manage, monitor, plan and prioritise your time effectively. IT skills, including Microsoft Office, email, databases, and social media.
  • Ability to speak confidently and be able to present your knowledge and findings in a structured and coherent way to a wide range of participants.
  • Knowledge/experience of community participation techniques.
  • Knowledge of effective communication techniques and approaches suitable for different audiences including underrepresented communities.
  • An understanding of the challenges facing the population of Suffolk.
  • An understanding of local and national policy which impacts on communities, particularly those who are most vulnerable or most severely affected.
  • Understanding of BAME/Seldom heard communities and the issues that face them.
    Confident in working ‘on the ground’ in the community. The ability to travel freely for work purposes. A willingness to work outside of usual office hours when required. Commitment and enthusiasm. Positive approach to team working, but also able to work on own initiative.
    This role requires you to be a highly competent and dedicated individual who demonstrates both compassion and empathy to the groups we engage it is desirable to have an understanding/awareness of mental ill health (e.g. support worker), or a relevant qualification (level 3 Health & Social Care).
