Description

We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic and flexible wellbeing lead/activity coordinator who will bring passion and leadership skills to the overall activities provision in and out with the Home. Your motivation will be underpinned by an appreciation of the unique atmosphere of our Home and ability to adhere to the Reformed Christian ethos.
Candidates do not need to be Christian themselves but must be prepared to uphold the ethos and support residents in some spiritual activities such as reading the bible, etc.
A driving licence would be advantageous as the role would involve trips out of the Home. We have a Home car and use of mini bus for these purposes.
This job may suit parents with children as hours would be 9-3pm on weekdays.
The role allows a lot of flexibility for the co-ordinator/ wellbeing lead to make the role their own and be guided by the residents’ needs and wishes.
Ballifeary House is a highly regarded, small and friendly, 24-bed residential home for older adults, which belongs to the Free Presbyterian Church of Scotland. Our function and purpose is aimed at providing a non-institutional, Christian atmosphere; one that is caring, relaxed and happy. This atmosphere is homely and respects the individuality, dignity and rights of privacy of each individual and it encourages and enables residents to achieve their potential capacity - physically, spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Responsibilities
  1. Organise a range of indoor activities appropriate to the capabilities and interests of each resident as detailed in their care plan.
  2. Organise and arrange outside activities for residents.
  3. Work as part of a team and co-operate with colleagues during times of staff shortage or illness to deliver a high standard of care.
  4. Contribute to the health, safety and security of residents in their environment.
  5. Promote the well-being of all residents within a Christian framework in a sensitive, caring manner, affording them dignity and respect.
  6. Be willing to undertake any training courses deemed necessary.
  7. As part of a team you must be willing to attend staff meetings. Take part in supervision and the appraisal system.
