Wellbeing Practitioner Salary: £26,006.84 per annum, pro rata Location: Wirral, Merseyside Contract/Hours: Permanent / Part Time – 30 hours per week, Tuesday – Friday Closing date for applications is midnight of Sunday 19th July interviews are provisionally scheduled for Wednesday 29th July. A bit about the role We’re excited to be recruiting for a Wellbeing Practitioner who will help us deliver meaningful mental health and wellbeing support to children and young people across Wirral. We’re looking for someone who brings energy, warmth, and genuine passion to their work—someone who feels at ease leading group‑based programmes and can connect with children, young people, and adults in a compassionate way. In this role, you’ll deliver early‑intervention, evidence‑based programmes and tailor your communication to meet each young person where they are. Working directly with children and young people aged 5 to 18, you’ll play a truly important part in nurturing emotional health, building resilience, and making a lasting, positive difference in their lives. About the Service The Branch service, delivered by Open Door Charity, Action for Children, Hatch Merseyside, Kooth and Koala North West and other local providers, offers early emotional health and wellbeing support to children and young people across Wirral. It is a community‑based provision designed to ensure young people can access help where they live, learn, and spend time. Being part of Branch means joining a passionate, supportive team committed to improving outcomes for young people, while collaborating with a range of organisations to strengthen Wirral’s emotional wellbeing offer. The service is built on evidence‑based interventions and a coordinated, partnership‑driven approach that helps children and young people thrive emotionally and socially. What you do could make a difference Some key responsibilities of the Wellbeing Practitioner role are; * Working as part of a practitioner team — You’ll work closely with a supportive team of Practitioners to deliver a wide range of emotional health and wellbeing interventions. * Delivering group and individual support — You’ll lead group sessions and provide one‑to‑one support, creating safe, positive spaces for children and young people to explore their feelings. * Equipping young people with wellbeing skills — You’ll help service users build practical tools and strategies to manage their emotional wellbeing and strengthen their resilience. * Working in partnership across Wirral — You’ll collaborate with schools, voluntary organisations, and local health services to ensure young people receive joined‑up, holistic support. Let’s talk about you * Level 3 Social Care or equivalent qualification, giving you a strong foundation for supporting children and young people. * Experience delivering proven, effective interventions that help improve emotional wellbeing. * Confidence facilitating group programmes, creating safe, engaging spaces for learning and connection. * Experience supporting children, young people, and their families, understanding their needs and building trusting relationships. * Be passionate about promoting emotional wellbeing and acting as a positive ambassador for mental health support. * Driving licence and access to a car.
