DESCRIPTION

The role involves supporting people experiencing mental distress providing a welcoming, safe and compassionate environment at Southwark Wellbeing Hub. Workers will support people to devise safety plans, work on coping techniques, identify personal goals and connect people to resources in their local area.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and maintain trusting relationships with service users to foster engagement.
• Provide empathetic and professional support to individuals in mental distress.
• Assist service users in setting, prioritizing, and achieving personal goals to enhance hope, motivation, and ambition.
• Collaborate with individuals to develop and review assessments, safety management plans, and personalized recovery support plans.
• Contribute to safeguarding individuals from abuse and self-harm.
• Recognize and value lived experiences, encouraging peer support and service improvement.
• Communicate effectively with people from diverse backgrounds, including marginalized or minority groups.
• Share knowledge, skills, and experiences within the team while maintaining confidentiality.
• Collaborate with external professionals and make referrals to community resources.
• Record and report activities and outcomes, highlighting examples of good practice.
• Maintain concise, accurate, and user-friendly records using Together’s computer-based systems.
• Participate in mandatory and job-related training, demonstrating commitment to continuous professional development.
• Uphold professional boundaries in all interactions with service users.
• Be available to work evenings and weekends.
