Responsibilities:

THE ROLE:

The Wellfield Manager, operating within the Integrated Project Management Team (IPMT), will assume a leadership role in the construction and operation of In Situ Recovery (ISR) mining at the Wheeler River Uranium Project – Phoenix Deposit. This position is anticipated to transition into a full-time site-based role at the Wheeler River Project, where responsibilities will include overseeing the ongoing performance of the wellfield and advancing wellfield drilling and construction activities through subsequent operational phases.
Key responsibilities involve the management of project costs, scheduling, contractors, and personnel related to the wellfield component of the construction activities. The Wellfield Manager will ensure the transformation of wellfield development plans into actionable construction plans for drilling, completions, and surface infrastructure. Additionally, the role requires the organization of site activities to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) while ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, licensing permits, health and safety standards, and adherence to approved budgets and timelines.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work within the IPMT with direct responsibility for the construction and operational activities associated with the wellfield component of the project, providing construction planning and execution expertise for the development of strategies, standards, processes, and plans to ensure cost effective, efficient, safe, and timely project completion.
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Commissioning team to develop and safely execute stage 1 & 2 commissioning plans and allow for progressive turnover of wellfield assets to the operations team.
  • Complete broadly defined and technically complex assignments during the wellfield construction phase of the project and thereafter manage the operational lifecycle of the wellfield to achieve strategic business and organizational objectives.
  • Prepare detailed plans for site works and the coordination of contractors and employees to safely execute activities, meet deadlines and ensure quality and conformance with plans, specifications and applicable codes, and maintain accurate records of approved variations from design drawings or specifications.
  • Lead the wellfield construction team and provide direct supervision to wellfield personnel and contractors.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the safe execution of all construction activities, ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work site is maintained and all health, safety and environmental rules and procedures are known, understood, and adhered to by both employees and contractors.
  • Collaborate with and provide constructability support to the Project team to ensure Project development and delivery activities achieve the scope, cost, schedule, quality, and value requirements.
  • Develop and foster cooperative relationships with key vendors and service providers.
  • Lead construction risk evaluations with the appropriate parties present for relevant and high-quality output.
  • Collaborate with the Operations, Maintenance, Environment, Procurement, Safety, and Regulatory teams and other support teams to influence the future direction of the operation while ensure compliance with established company protocols and policies, applicable legislative and regulatory requirements, and licensing commitments.
  • Prepare technical reports, progress updates, support budget development, and create other documents or presentations as required.
  • Build collaborative partnerships with internal teams and liaise effectively and in a timely manner with external contractors or consultants as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or as may be required.
