GENERAL SUMMARY The Wellness Center Nutritionist will assist Tribal and community members of the Viejas Band with nutritional health education, evaluations, meal plan development, and continued work with clients as needed. In collaboration with the staff members of the Yaytaanak Wellness Center (YWC), the Wellness Center Nutritionist will provide confidential, culturally appropriate, evidence-based, and patient-centered support to Tribal and community members. CORE SCOPE OF POSITION * Works with Tribal and community members to develop evidence-based nutrition plans based on their medical needs and health goals * Coordinates and leads nutrition-related health classes for the community * Continues strengthening the YWC’s partnerships and referral pathways with nutritionists and dieticians at local healthcare organizations. * Stay up to date on nutrition and health research * Collaborates with the YWC media team in designing health messaging surrounding nutrition, diabetes, meal prep, etc. * Works in coordination with the YWC staff and leadership to meet program goals and guidelines. * Ensures that a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment is maintained. * Adheres to all company and department policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines. * Performs other duties as assigned.
