Wellness Coach Requisition ID: 1778 New Haven, CT $22/hour Schedule: * Part-Time: 25 hours weekly, Monday–Friday, 1:00 PM – 6:00 PM  Role: Chapel Haven Schleifer Center is seeking a Wellness Coach to support adults with disabilities in developing healthy, active, and independent lifestyles. In this role, you will lead wellness programming, provide individualized coaching, and help community members build sustainable fitness, nutrition, and wellness habits. This position works closely with the Wellness Manager to integrate structured and independent wellness activities across campus and in the community. Responsibilities * Plan, organize, and lead wellness activities and programs (fitness, nutrition, wellness groups)  * Facilitate individual and group wellness coaching sessions  * Support individualized wellness plans (IWPs) for community members  * Supervise independent fitness time in campus wellness spaces and partner facilities  * Coordinate transportation to off-campus wellness activities and events (may require personal vehicle use)  * Lead workshops such as healthy cooking, meal planning, and fitness education  * Document sessions and progress within required systems  * Support ongoing wellness engagement and participation across programs  Qualifications * Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Public Health, Psychology, Human Services, or related field  * Certified Personal Trainer required  * 3–5 years of experience in fitness, wellness, or nutrition-related work preferred  * Experience working with individuals with developmental or social disabilities preferred  Required Certifications & Skills * Valid CT Driver’s License  * CT Public Service License Endorsement (or ability to obtain)  * CPR & First Aid Certification  * CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification (or ability to obtain)  * Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills  * Ability to work both independently and as part of a team  Why Join Us? * Competitive hourly pay + benefits for full-time staff  * Mission-driven, community-focused environment  * Opportunity to directly impact wellness and independence outcomes  * Supportive leadership and collaborative team culture  * Professional growth and development opportunities  Apply Today We encourage candidates to apply even if they don’t meet every requirement.
