POSITION SUMMARY:

The Wellness Coordinator within SVdP’s Interim Housing Communities is responsible for bringing in volunteers, partners, and programs in order to provide a safe space for physical, mental, and emotional well-being for its residents.
The WC oversees the day-to-day programmatic events and activities for residents and liaises with volunteers in order to enhance the resident experience and provide opportunities for healing from the trauma of homelessness. The WC must be a compassionate and patient communicator and collaborator, while also driven to accomplish concrete goals, connecting the details to the big vision. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, and enthusiastic. This representative must be energetic, resourceful, and reliable with strong interpersonal skills and a passion for working with vulnerable populations.
Requirements: Excellent communication, organization skills, and ability to interact with and a variety of guests, staff, donors, and volunteers. Experience with technology, including all Microsoft Suite programs is a necessity.

Responsibilities
  • In collaboration with Shelter Manger and other Program Supervisors, work to develop holistic programming that addresses social determinants of health needs.
  • Recruit and engage volunteers and donors, creating curriculum, and planning events.
  • Assuring all volunteers check in at kiosk, and verifying weekly and monthly reports from Volunteer Services are accurate.
  • Write and distribute a regular newsletter on the shelter program to share with neighbors and other stakeholders.
  • Communicate and coordinate with other SVDP departments on behalf of the IHC’s, including development, community engagement, and volunteer operations.
  • Miscellaneous program operations (creating and updating documents, flyers, supporting program managers in day to day duties)
  • Develops and coordinates programming for residents.
  • Plans and coordinates special event programming for residents within available budget.
  • Oversees and supports volunteer groups.
  • Supports community focus and interpersonal skills for residents through building relationships with them.
  • Communicates activities and concerns to case management team.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and agency events as requested or required
  • Other duties as identified by supervisor
  • Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy and ensure that SVdP volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated.
  • Be the Liaison between our CAP program for any training, clinics, meetings and data requirements.
