JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an inspirational Wellness Coordinator who is looking for their next challenge to provide leadership and direction to our brand-new village. Working Full Time Monday - Friday, you will be able to make a difference by providing top quality services and providing best of life care to our Summerset residents.
The Wellness Coordinator works as part of the resident care team with the GP/NP, Reporting to the Resident Experience Manager with Care Centre Manager providing professional supervision.
This role has a start date of 16 September 2024.

As part of the Wellness Coordinator role, some of the tasks you will be responsible for are:

  • Conducting wellness, chronic disease and primary health screening assessments following requests from village residents
  • Providing nursing services and interventions as indicated and within the scope of practice including wound care, post-surgery and procedure monitoring, continence support for catheters, support with medication administration and education
  • Respond to residents’ general health-related inquiries, offer advice, and refer them to appropriate healthcare professionals when indicated
  • Assisting residents to plan when their health declines and their support
  • Running vaccination clinics for village residents and staff (in conjunction with the pharmacy and/or GP practice) as indicated by each annual vaccination programme for influenza, Covid-19 and other relevant vaccinations within the scope of the incumbent
  • Maintaining professional, accurate and up-to-date documentation in compliance with company policies and legal requirements
  • Fostering a positive and friendly atmosphere within the village by engaging with residents and their families, understanding their individual needs, and promoting a sense of community.
  • Management of clinical supplies and equipment

QUALIFICATIONS:

Our successful applicant will have:

  • A NZ Registration and a current Practicing Certificate
  • Good communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of ageing well practices for older people
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Current First Aid certificate
