Description Job Title: Wellness Department Manager Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly Supervisor: Store Manager/Store Assistant Manager Job Description Summary : Success in this position requires the skills and abilities listed in this description. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Responsible for representing Food Matters Market with professionalism and integrity. Exceptional customer service and sales support practices. Knowledgeable in current wellness culture and practices to assist customers with general health and wellness-related questions. Proficient skills in multi-system ordering and inventory management. Receive and stock deliveries in a timely manner. Strong collaboration with other employees to maintain a clean and organized environment. Ability to build and maintain strong vendor relations compliant with company policies. Accurately record and report credits, transfers and shrink. Participate in brand trainings and maintain an up to date understanding of available products. Assist with inventory counts when needed. Requirements Education, Credentials, Certification, and/or Experience: Minimum: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED). Preferred: Associate’s degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field (not required, but a plus). Retail Background: 2–3 years of experience in a retail environment. Leadership: At least 1 year of experience in a supervisory or "lead" role, demonstrating the ability to train and motivate team members. Inventory Management: Proven experience with ordering, receiving, and managing stock levels. Must understand how to minimize shrink and manage seasonal transitions. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: Strong communication skills. Ability to lead associate(s) in a positive and professional manner. Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills. Commitment to quality customer service. Must maintain DSHEA compliance. Have the knowledge to read supplemental/nutritional facts and navigate ingredients on product labeling. Awareness of common allergies and dietary terms such as gluten-free, vegan, keto, etc. Willingness to work flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Willingness to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities. Knowledge of Microsoft office programs and ordering systems. Work in fast paced environment. Treat customers, supervisors and coworkers fairly, consistently, and with respect. Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time. Comfortably and safely use box cutters. Must be able to comfortably lift 30-40 lbs.
