Join us as a Wellness Department Supervisor! We are looking for an energetic, community-oriented and experienced individual to work as a Wellness Department Supervisor at our Mt Airy/Across the Way location. This position is full-time with an anticipated 35-40 hours per week. Flexible availability is required. Responsibilities Include Staff Supervision Assist in training new departmental staff in standard practices and procedures, product information, and customer service. Supervise departmental staff to ensure daily operational tasks are completed efficiently, timely, and successfully. Assist ATW manager with store scheduling, including covering departmental shifts if/when callouts occur. Setting daily and long-range priority of tasks and projects while keeping staff informed of updates Contribute to growth of departmental staff work performance, including informal and on-going coaching as needed. Purchasing Evaluate suppliers and research new products. Negotiate with suppliers for favorable prices, terms, quality, and delivery. Achieve target margin under the guidance of the ATW Manage. Maintain a vendor file and ordering/receiving schedule. Develop and maintain a product database for use in ordering and pricing. Purchase products, including monitoring standing orders frequently and adjusting them according to customer demand, seasonal needs, and display limitations. Ensure proper procedures are followed for receiving, pricing, labeling, storage, and display. Review invoices for accuracy, coordinating returns and credit from suppliers where applicable. Merchandising Merchandise and market Wellness products, including promotions and discounts. Provide product information for members and staff. Plan attractive displays with uniform signage. Ensure that product labels reflect allergens, as applicable. Ensure display areas are maintained and clean. Maintain back stock and supply storage areas for cleanliness and orderliness. Member/Cooperator Service Ensure that co-operators are supervised in a friendly manner for effectiveness and efficiency. Ensure friendly and efficient member service for product information and location, and special orders. Assist members otherwise as needed or direct their inquiries to someone who can help. Other Duties Review purchasing and merchandising procedures with the ATW Manager. Notify appropriate staff of changes in products, vendors, and operating procedures. Observe all Weavers Way policies and procedures. Attend departmental and all-staff meetings. Assist with quarterly inventories. Complete evaluations as assigned. Perform other duties as assigned by a manager or supervisor. Requirements Commitment to the mission and goals of Weavers Way Co-op. Exhibited ability to work well in a team setting.
