Child Development Resources (CDR) is seeking a compassionate, experienced Motherhood Wellness and Lactation Coach to join our multidisciplinary Motherhood Program team. This is a unique opportunity to blend clinical lactation expertise with perinatal mental health support to serve families during pregnancy and throughout the postpartum period.  The Motherhood Wellness and Lactation Coach provides comprehensive, evidence-based lactation and perinatal wellness services in our Perinatal Health Hub, in the community, and in client homes. This role ensures families receive holistic, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed care. This position also supports the Motherhood Program Director in service delivery, program organization, and quality assurance. Highlighted Responsibilities: The Wellness & Lactation Coach plays a vital role in supporting new and expecting mothers through their wellness and breastfeeding journeys. This position focuses on providing personalized guidance, education, and emotional support to promote healthy motherhood experiences. The coach collaborates closely with clients to develop tailored wellness plans that address physical, emotional, and nutritional needs during pregnancy and postpartum. By fostering a compassionate and informed environment, the coach empowers mothers to overcome challenges related to lactation and overall well-being. Ultimately, this role aims to enhance maternal confidence, improve breastfeeding success rates, and contribute to healthier family outcomes. LACTATION SUPPORT * Provide individual lactation consultations in-office and through home visits * Facilitate prenatal and postpartum breastfeeding classes * Develop individualized, evidence-based feeding plans * Collaborate with clinical team members to ensure continuity of care PERINATAL MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS * Screen for and recognize Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) * Administer validated screening tools such as: * Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) * Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 (GAD-7) * Provide supportive counseling and evidence-based interventions within scope * Coordinate referrals for higher-level mental health services when needed PARENT & INFANT EDUCATION * Teach breastfeeding techniques and address common feeding challenges * Provide safe sleep education and newborn care guidance * Support bonding, responsive parenting, and maternal confidence * Offer education on stress management and adjustment to parenting HOME VISITING & COMMUNITY SUPPORT * Conduct in-home visits for lactation support and wellness checks * Build trusting relationships with families facing barriers to care * Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with grant requirements PROGRAM COLLABORATION * Participate in team meetings and case reviews * Maintain documentation for service units and outcome reporting * Support continuous quality improvement and maternal health initiatives What you will bring: * International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) * Training in Perinatal Mental Health and PMAD screening * Strong knowledge of: * Infant & toddler development * Prenatal and postpartum health * Lactation support for the mother/baby dyad * Trauma-informed and health equity-informed care * Experience supporting diverse pregnant and postpartum populations * Microsoft Office 365 proficiency * Preferred * Certified Educator of Infant Massage (CEIM) or willingness to obtain * Additional Requirements * Valid driver’s license without restrictions * Completion of TB risk assessment * Child Protective Services, sexual offender, and criminal background checks * Infant & child CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) * OSHA training (or willingness to obtain) Why Work at CDR?  Mission-Driven Work: Every role supports children, families, and the staff who serve them Supportive Culture: Join a collaborative, respectful, and caring team Outstanding Benefits: Generous leave, paid holidays, health/dental/vision insurance, and retirement plans Stability & Impact: A vital role that directly supports daily operations and long-term success Work-Life Balance: We value responsiveness while recognizing the importance of balance When you join CDR, you’re not just starting a job—you’re joining a supportive, community-focused team where your work truly matters.
