Description POSITION SUMMARY: The Exercise Center Attendant supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Maintain high visibility in the Wellness Center area; conduct periodic walk-throughs. · Must be willing to earn and maintain American Red Cross CPR and First Aid certification (Certification will be provided by the YMCA upon hire) · Enforce Wellness Center policies. · Provide equipment orientation and timely follow-up. · Ensure cleanliness and safety of environment. · Adhere to emergency procedures and safety precautions. Follow procedures for reporting all accidents, incidents and hazards. · Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations. Obtain and maintain required training(s). · Performs other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be 16 years of age CPR and First Aid certified – (Will be provided by the YMCA upon hire) Experience in the health and fitness field preferred Use of a variety of fitness equipment SALARY: Starting rate of $12 an hour SCHEDULE: Part-time all year around (29 hrs per week) Wednesdays and Fridays 8:30 AM-12 PM & every other Saturday 6:45-10:30 AM. Subbing is required as needed. Responsibilities
The Wellness Staff member is responsible for greeting and engaging facility users while maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the Wellness Center. They provide equipment orientation, enforce facility policies, and respond to emergency situations as needed.
