JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Wellness Advisor Department: Wellness
Reports to: Store Manager, Wellness Lead
Direct Reports: None

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Wellness Advisor is an important customer-facing role at Amaranth, focused on delivering personalized wellness support and maintaining the smooth daily operations of the Wellness Department. This includes recommending supplements and personal care items, ensuring accurate product stocking, receiving, and merchandising, as well as providing exceptional customer service.
At Amaranth, our mission is to provide an outstanding experience every day, one person at a time. This role directly supports our mission by ensuring customers are supported with knowledgeable recommendations and well-stocked wellness offerings.

PRIORITY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

These are the outcomes the team member is accountable for, as outlined in the accountability chart. These outcomes include:

  • Customer Support & Education: Provide personalized product recommendations and wellness support, utilizing industry knowledge, internal training, and vendor resources.
  • Inventory Maintenance: Ensure shelves and coolers are stocked, rotated, and merchandised according to Amaranth standards, with accurate signage and pricing.
  • Product Knowledge & Training: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of supplements and personal care items through ongoing training and Health First quizzes.
  • Operational Support: Contribute to receiving, transfers, special orders, credits, and department checklist completion, as assigned.

SECONDARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

These accountabilities support the effective completion of the Priority Accountabilities:

  • Collaborate with the Store Manager and Wellness Lead to ensure proper daily coverage and smooth department operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and support wellness goals across shifts.
  • Provide friendly assistance and knowledgeable backup at the tills when needed.
  • Stay informed of in-store promotions and marketing initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Intermediate computer skills, especially in database operations
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Knowledge of natural health products or a willingness to learn.

TIME REQUIREMENTS:

  • Full-time or part-time hourly position.
  • Flexible working availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and shift coverage as needed.
  • Entitled to a 30-minute unpaid meal break for shifts longer than 5 consecutive hours.

BASIC PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Stand for extended periods of time.
  • Walk, bend, twist, reach above and below shoulders.
  • Use mops, brooms, cleaning supplies, carts, pallet jack, computers, and printers.
  • Use ladders up to 12 feet in height.
  • This role may include lifting items up to 50 lbs. Teamwork and tools, such as carts, are available to support these tasks.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures (coolers, freezers, outdoors).
Responsibilities

TACTICAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

These are the processes that the team member is responsible for executing:

  • Process transactions accurately and support the till area when required.
  • Receive and verify shipments; rotate and stock products promptly.
  • Process and manage customer special orders; follow up as needed.
  • Maintain accuracy in the inventory database and shelf tags.
  • Manage credit requests and follow up on discrepancies or missing items.
  • Participate in weekly inventory reports and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Respond to and complete transfer requests, both incoming and outgoing.
  • Support marketing efforts by maintaining end caps and promotional displays.
