Our Direct Support Professionals provide daily support to individuals with developmental disabilities within the home setting. Working with a team, DSPs assist with daily living skills, personalized goals, arts and crafts, games, sensory activities, and accompany on outings in the community. Starting pay is $19.25 an hour for part time and full time positions. WHAT IS ARC GLOW? We are a parent and family driven organization that empowers and supports people of all ages with a broad spectrum of emotional, intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our residential locations cover the four counties in the GLOW region, providing supports and services to over 150 people. WHO DOES THE ARC GLOW SUPPORT? People with intellectual and developmental disabilities will be valued members of their communities, with the opportunity to realize their full potential and a future that is secure. AVAILABLE DSP RESIDENTIAL POSITIONS: Part time and full time opportunities are available. Schedule may include evenings, overnights, and weekend hours. WHAT WOULD I BE DOING? Provides daily care to the people we support with developmental, intellectual and/or physical disabilities. Assists and encourages the people we support to care for immediate personal needs. Assists with planning daily activities and participates in the activities in small groups. Documents all program data accurately and timely. Provide transportation as needed with agency vehicles. Use various software platforms for specific job functions. All full time DSP’s in the residential program will be required to obtain and maintain medication certification. Meal preparation. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DSP: A valid NYS driver's license with an acceptable driving record, per agency policy, and reliable transportation to and from work is required. Excellent communication skills. The physical ability to transfer and lift people with mobility restraints. The drive to help others with personal goals and work in a team environment. The ability to efficiently use a computer. Vacation time begins accruing immediately and is available to use after three months of employment Sick time begins accruing immediately and is available to use immediately.
