Description
We're protecting and enhancing America's National Park System for present and future generations. National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the nation’s oldest and largest national parks nonprofit advocate, has an exciting opportunity for West Virginia Wildlife Fellow. NPCA’s West Virginia Field Office seeks an individual passionate about environmental conservation, wildlife and historic preservation to support programmatic efforts focused on protecting national parks. This is a part-time, remote/hybrid opportunity (20 hours per week) with a flexible schedule. The right candidate will be able to assist in planning and executing in-person and virtual events and meetings in West Virginia, as well as able to work virtually on research projects. This position will assist with efforts to support the West Virginia programmatic work and responsible for research as well as on-the-ground event support during in-person roundtables, workshops and events. Location: Remote/Hybrid, based in Charleston, West Virginia or surrounding area Schedule: Part-time; up to 20 hours per week Compensation: $18-26 per hour Tangible deliverables that will be achieved: Assist in projects from start to finish, including planning and organizing, collaborating with stakeholders and partners. Research and develop supporting materials related to issues impacting related program work in West Virginia. Participate in outreach and communication efforts, including on-site events and virtual meetings. Preferred Qualifications: Contributes interest in NPCA’s mission Exhibits attitudes and behaviors that reflect NPCA’s core values Current or recent college graduate (within one year of graduation) Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills Works independently and as part of a team on projects assigned Demonstrates effective research capabilities Presents material when appropriate.
